I have a boy that needs a certain requirement to advance ranks in the Boy Scouts of America. Like his mother has had in the past, he has issues with water and swimming. I am very proud he past the deep end test and endures swim lessons.
This Saturday I dragged him away from playing Minecraft with his cousins remotely to the pool.Did you know that goggles are seasonal items? Swimming is a Winter sport, but apparatus to compete is 'seasonal'. Odd.
Anyways our discussion was something like 'you do laps while I run ok?' 'Ok. Sure'.
I didn't get a machine that over looks the pool so I didn't have a visual. Note to self:Always have a visual.
40 mins later when I was done, I meandered down to the pool....more like gimped, and there was my boy.
He had 4-5 yellow swimming noodles wrapped around his shoulders in a reclined position floating merrily in the kids' pool. His toes were happily wiggling above the water.
Our minds work differently.
So I asked; "Get in any laps in today?" "Yes two. Hey guess what?!I was trying to keep my feet above water and finally figured out how."
Oh Ok.
Our minds work differently.
