Alex Update while I am waiting for the uploads

I have a Blackberry and use it for my pictures ....it takes fooooooorevvvvver to upload pictures to blog. I lost my camera camera battery charger so even though the pictures are not that great Blackberry it is

Alex is a pickle. He hates school one minute and is on the top of the world the next. He is a typical college freshman they tell me and what I can remember from working my RIT days...he is on target. Still no fun. He has an awesome roommate that already understands him.

Alex is a social boy and SVU is not big on things to do around town. He loves sports and was lured there with the promise ( and scholarships) to play basketball- his only true love- and LAX. They failed to mention he is ineligible to play basketball.

It seems there are 3 criteria given to play with 2 of the 3 needing to be met.
One is a GPA hgher than a 2.0-no problem He has a 85% graduating GPA from high school,18 credits from MCC with a GPA of 3.7 and a current SVU GPA of 3.1

He has to be ranked in his high school class in the upper 50%.- problem Penfield doesn't rank and it is illegal to do so. His counselor was willing to write a letter saying that with an 85% GPA he would have ranked high in the city, county, state..... but no- they want a specific rank number

Third he needed a specific number on his SAT or ACT -which he is 20 pts below on SAT and 2pts below on the ACT. My problem with this is that I paid for Alex to take each test 3 times. He took them once. He made his choice.
However the school failed to mention any of this to us . So Alex is under review for an exception and he is signed up AGAIN ( at his expense) to take the ACT. The test is in December, well into the second half of the season, with results coming in after the season. I tried my best to get him to retake these tests because I knew if he could get higher he could get another scholarship. It was HIS choice not to. I am not telling him - I told you so- but I am allowing him to experience the consequences . I do wish he understood I do know what I am talking about ......but that is another post.
