I have been looking into our sorry state of food storage again. Now that Mike Taylor had made me a wonderful food storage room... "pathetic" comes to mind when describing what we would have to fall back on if we HAD to.
Last night at work I started looking at seeds I buy regulalry. Looking ahead to gardening and canning etc...I started looking at the herbs..looking for basil and cilantro and I found this:
Epazote - Pack
Chenopodium ambrosioides
Rare - Traditional - Medicinal
30-36 in. Hardy Annual
Also called "Mexican Tea", this aromatic herb enhances black beans and aids digestion. Medicinally, known to kill intestinal worms. Easy to grow.
hmmm intestinal worms....Mexican Tea. Been to Mexico - don't drink the water!
Look at this
Chaste Tree
Vitex agnuscastus
10-15ft.Tender Perennial/Hardy Perennial
Medicinal
Spreading deciduous shrub shows off lovely spikes of lilac blooms from June through July, complementing its aromatic foliage, which is used to treat female ailments.
Ok I'll ask since I am a female. Which female ailments?
Wikipedia says

Galactagogue. This use is disputed.[10]
Potential as an Insect repellent[11]
No clinical studies but also

Are you freaking kidding me?!!!!!! There is a PMS TREE!
I guess it is also called Abraham's Balm.
So as I was googling abt this and also to find out if there really WAS a Red Tent where this PMS herb was passed out freely. I stumbled on to this

Have you been talking to Chris? We were just discussing a good book she has that identifies/evaluates a bunch of stuff like this!!
I think I want the PMS plant!!
Well I talked to her yesterday about Pageant... What book? I want it!
I actually take Vitex... TOTALLY makes me feel "normal" instead of a raving mad woman during "those times of the month"... ;)
