Laurie Christensen says weird stuff happens to only me. Hmmm she may have a point
One day there was family with seven beautiful children. On June 26ish, DD15 had a orthodontist appointment. On June 29, the 7 would have their semi-annual cleaning.
The wonderful husband/Dad took DD15 to the DDS so Mom got a call later that night that the June 29 appointment would have to be rescheduled.
Ok
Off to Pageant we went.
Ok enough of the 3 person stuff. You know it is us and I can't keep up with it.
On July 3 ish I got a call that a new doctor would be taking over and a new ortho too.
OK
Well, we show up to the new orthodontist and I have no idea what is going on. I had been calling and calling the old office. They did not let me know if they mailed anything off like: molds, xrays etc.
I go to the front desk of the Dr Kauffman and am shocked...floored to find out my old DDS has died. WHAT?! He went into hospice the end of June and died around July 4th.
NO ONE knew he had cancer, not his family not his staff not his patients.
Seems I paid a dead guy my monthly draft for services he didn't and couldn't render.
CUZ HE WAS DEAD!
I didn't want to bother the mourning widow, but .....money was coming out of my acct and we was not able to use it where he is. At least that's what they tell me.
I contacted my bank. It would cost me money not to pay the Dead DDS, huh?
So in I go with the obituary showing proof that my DDS is.... indeed... dead and surely there has to be a law/policy that we dont' pay my money to a dead guy.
Turns out you need the dead guy to stop payment or pay big fees( but remember I have already paid a month for services not rendered and they have the obit)
Nope I need a death cert.
WHAT?!!!
I called the office and was told that the widow would take care of it.
I am angry and trying to get to the place where I can bring a casserole.
Oh it looks like the new ortho will have to fix all the Dead DDS 's mistakes and it will take and additional 6 mos.
