Happy Birthday Emma Again

It was finally Emma's turn in her class to have her birthday celebration.

Our school has new dietary guidelines of what one is allowed to bring in as treats. Long gone are the day of home made cupcakes...or even store baked. Now we were given a 3page list of limits that the snack must fall into nutritionally. Popscicles fit calorie-wise and that is where I stopped looking at this list. I think the rest said something like blah blah blah.....
One boy got all the kids to do the Statue of Liberty. Hmmm maybe there was a guideline about the amount of sugar one item could have per serving, but that was after the allergy page. By then I had a head ache.

Emma and I were able to read one of the best books ever written for first graders. It was one of my favorites as a child.

Emma started a 'Readers cast.' You will notice on her right arm a paper cast. She and her little friends have casts and all the parents who come into read for the birthday celebrations, sign their 'casts.'
I don't know.
What makes you think I would know where that idea came from?
I love my Emma and I LOVED reading with her in class today.
