Sometimes the Church makes things impossible. Parents with more than one child can't win.
Our Ward has a plan that we are to go to The Temple as a family when our children go as a YW/YM group. It is a nice idea, and I would LOVE(that is why we go as a family) to, but..
There is
Cub Scouts with parents
Achievement with parents
CES mtg with parents
and
I still three too young that need supervision.
Which do I choose?
I feel bad that I am the parent that isn't there for my child. Maybe it is because I didn't have parent there when I was a child. I hate repeating history- even though it is for different reasons.
So here is the plan IF everyone corporates....
Scott is going to the Temple so there will be enough Priesthood.
I will hit the Scouts when I drop off Hannah to Achievement, allow the kids to get energy out in the gym for a few minutes, before we either drive over to the CES for a while and then leave to go BACK to make it in time for the last few minutes of Achievement,
or PLAN B is to say forget CES and and just bring everyone to Achievement.
What are the chances he will actually go to Provo anyway?
I think Leaders should talk more with one another.....just a thought.

Why do they need parents there for all of that? Maybe you should draw a picture of you for each of your kids to take with them. Then they can explain where you are and see if that gets their attention? hehehehe.
M has pack meeting on Wednesday, no one seems to know the time for sure, fun :P.
Oh man... I'm glad I'm not there yet. My mental state doesn't need any of those decisions right now!!!
Good Luck!!! (????)
In Scouts and Achievement it is "Building Friendships" and Getting to know you night where what is expected of child/ parent is told and fun games.
CES is about.... well church schools and is instead of seminary. The temple is the temple. The ward wanted to increase families attending to the temple and making our children 'temple attending people.' I am not too worried about that as we go with our kids as a family regularly.
Oh my goodness- that is nuts! They should talk more when they are involving family. Don't the leaders of those other organizations have other children? Maybe not. My biggest problem will be that when Robert turns 8 next month he will have scouts at one building on the same night/time as Sarah has scouts at our building. It takes 25 minutes to get to one and then another 15 at least to get to the other one from there. I guess I'll have to find a carpool.
You go to the temple regularly, so why can't Scott attend one of those other mtgs? Spread out the pain.
There is not enough priesthood holders going to the temple so....
I can't fill those shoes .
So, how did it go?
