First Day Report

Alex- Well as I watched Alex pulled away with his friends in little black car full to the brim (all too cool for the bus),his face was beaming!!! He was in his element. He couldn't wait!!! He didn't come right after home after school -so we texted. He did make it for dinner and right before I left for work.
He said it was "Good."
He is trying to make some schedule changes. I didn't hear much about his classes, just about people, which is typical Alex. While I was at work, he called me to say good night and we talked more about people- mostly about a new kid from the city that plays basketball. Exciting for the team!!!!

Sarah- she didn't get lost once. She did say that she can't believe that they did NOTHING in class. She has a Global (used to be called Social Studies when I was in school) teacher that is trying to be their friend. I saw a questionnaire that they had to fill out. Questions like : Who will be the next celeb arrested? Who will be the next Celeb in rehab? No seriously.
Sarah adjusted well. At lunch, she looked around and saw a girl, Martha that was alone. She sat and talked with her for a while, before going to be with her friends. She invited Martha to sit with some friends, but she declined. Martha seems to "be exiled" because she made the mistake of bringing her lunch in a lunch box.
I love Sarah.

Hannah reconnected with old friends and hit it off. She said that she has a REALLY REALLY mean global teacher which also happens to be her Home base (used to be called home room) teacher. I guess two girls forgot something in their lockers so the guy actually counted to ten. In that time, they had to run to their lockers and get back or detention. Except one thing- there is no running in the hall or the security guards give you detention. Nice. Way to support the kids.

Both Hannah and Sarah said that the strangest thing was that they had to go back today- that it was a long day- and when would they actually learn something? Alex piped in that it wasn't about learning the first few days or so. LOL ok

Seth's said that it was "pretty good." His teacher is a chess fanatic and Seth stayed in the room to learn more chess during lunch. Seth was disappointed that their computer had all educational stuff. He was happy to see his friends that he hadn't seen over the summer. Watch out Archer is in the class, and when those two get together... they will talk your ear off. We will miss Noah this year.
4th year will be a struggle academically for Seth. It requires more reading and writing than he prefers. He is up for the challenge!

Emma has Phoebe and Eric in her class. They made great games at recess, and needs a snack (more than I gave her). Today she would like to wear more pink and less gold.

The rest of use went to the YMCA so I could work out, but there was a 1/2 waiting list and I am not that dedicated. I had planned to go back at nap time, but I am still sick- and had to work until 1am. I took a short nap.
About 11 am Ben started calling for Hannah and at 2 Andrew broke down and needed Emma
Everyone got off this AM so we are good to go. We are off to story time and Ben has a physical
