I spent
$163.26
Three of the five who will be in school have NOT gotten a list of supplies needed.
Some stores have their Halloween and Thanksgiving stuff out.
So I called and asked.
It is up to the individual teachers.
I asked for their schedules so I can ask the 'individual teachers.'
They don't have the schedules yet and will get them the first day of school in home room. Oh what is their homeroom. We don't know yet.
Huh?
7 days until school.
I ask if the teachers lists changed from last year. No one knows.
OK. Then they will get what I BUY.
The lists I did get had brand names of stuff.
Hmmmmm why do I need to spend $.65 on a Mead one subject 70 page notebook when Walmart has a no name for $.05?( both made in CHina) I check the lines and they match up- so they get what I buy.
Rose Art crayons and markers are just fine. Crayola are great but...cost more.
I refuse to buy 4 bottles(each child= 8 bottles) of Purell hand sanitizer to share in the class room. I bought a bar of soap for each.
3 boxes of tissues each. Well my DD has the smaller of the two classes with 22 students. 3x 22= 66 boxes. There are only 180 days of school. Are we making parade floats?
Tennis balls....to put on the bottom of my child's chair....ok last I knew he had one chair. That chair has 4 legs.
Why do I need 12-15 balls?
Ok I have been training Ruby to clean the bathrooms. I mean who is going to do it when the kids are at school?
She seems to be getting it...
Here is how she is doing. LOL

Man... I'm glad our stuff was "optional"...
I assure you if they asked me to buy tennis balls for chairs they'd hear some MAJOR complaining from me... My child can learn JUST FINE without tennis balls on his chair, thankyouverymuch.
We were asked (for the 1st grade class) to send ONE of the following IF we could: box of tissue, bottle of hand sanitizer, clorox wipes or a ream of paper.
They asked for a bottle of hand sanitizer and a box of tissue in the 4th grade class. I sent Taylor with his OWN sanitizer to use whenever he needed, and a box of tissues.
I think, including supplies, clothes and shoes for shcool this year (for 3 kids since Madison has preschool 4 days a week...) I spent a grand total of $300.00. I didn't think that was bad since the boys had grown out of EVERYTHING, and we were able to get 7 pairs of shoes in all of that too.
Sending kids to school is pricey. And stressful. :P
Good luck with the new bathroom cleaner!!! LOL
I had to buy reams of paper, clorox wipes and baby wipes (I think for dry erase boards-unless we are now no longer using TP). I also had to but EXPO only dry erase markers and a EXPO only eraser "( NO SOCKS,PLEASE)" SO I bought one , but threw in a sock too....
I only spent 293. something on clothes.
Buying school supplies is a nightmare. Plus I try to buy extra, because by Xmas they need new everything!
I guess this is one thing I'm happy about, my kids school asked for nothing, nada, zip, zero, zilch. It's a really poor school so they didn't want to make some parents feel bad. They are having back to school night tonight so I'll ask the teachers if they need anything and I'll send what I can.
I think it's silly that they ask for name brand stuff though, too bad!
I just love that I misspelled "school" in my above post...
LOL
