Oh the Tangled Web We Weave

Think it is weird how small the world is. How every where I go, I know someone or we are intertwined. Scott says it is not the 7 degrees to Kevin Bacon, it's to me, lol
Here is what am talking about.
Today Scott and I are at the Temple and This man tells me I look familiar- turns out he knew me when I was very very young.

I am at the DMV today and a man comes up to me and asks me if my name is Heather (insert maiden name here) I said that 'it used to be.' He asks me a few more questions. He was a kid I grew up with until I was 12. Todd Gallen. We used to climb trees together. His wife comes up and....He is married to a girl I went to high school with that lived across the street from me in Brighton. That may not seem weird, but I moved out of his neighborhood and into Michelle's when I was 12 on the other side of town.

This past weekend, I go to my nephew's fiancee's bridal shower. I don't think I will know a soul besides the Italian ladies on Anne's side that I love ( I just can't wait until some day we can communicate in a common language). I walk in to notice a women from the other Ward that shares our building( Fairport Ward). As it turns out, she works with the fiancee and knows her and my brother's family quite well.

Our good friends the Christensen s came to be in Pageant and I was looking over their blog about the whole thing and out of the whole 700ish cast members, Wes is cast to be married to our good friend, Zoe.

At opening night of Pageant there are about 9000 people there. We get good seats, but grabbed too manychairs- so we move our stuff.
A little while later, 3 people come to sit down. The women asks Scott what my maiden name was. We met 25 years ago at my BROTHER'S( Mark) WEDDING. She is Mark's wife( Suzie) sister! Her and her husband had gone to SLC where they were able to hear the Spoken Word and the Choir. They decided to come to Pageant and brought her Dad too.
Confused? My brother,Mark married Suzie. Suzie has a sister, Lynn. I met Lynn at Mark and Suzie's wedding 25 yrs ago, and she showed up sitting next to us at Pageant.

I am on the phone taking a call in Idaho. I am not allowed to take calls of people I know. I get this call, I don't know the Deaf client. So I take it, but when the hearing person answers- it is a man that used to live in our Ward. His son's stayed here this summer enroute to college/camp. I am not to take calls of those I know-- so I hand to explain and hand off the call to another interpreter.

I get this other call and I don't recognize the name- but the Deaf guy says "Hi Heather! How are you? Are you in Rochester? I look at the name- stunned. Not a clue. Turns out I interpreted for him at UVCC(now UVU?) 17 years ago when I was 'doin time in Provo'. Again, I had to hand off the call.

Once I was in Hollywood walking down Sunset BLVD with Scott, and we ran into this girl, Melanie, who was in my Primary class, but went inactive before we were in middle school.

weird.

Very cool!

I just get "you look familiar, are you related to?" and I never am :P, so it's not so cool ;). I must have a long lost twin or something, lol.

Peter is convinced I personally know half the world for that reason.

When we first started dating (in Utah) we went to my Texas neighbor's organ concert at the Tabernacle. Peter turned around and said "that is my family's favorite home teacher from when we lived in California!" (He moved from there when he was 15.) It was neighbor in Texas' uncle. Weird.

23 years ago, walking down Kalakaua Ave (the street that runs parallel to Waikiki Beach in Honolulu) and I run into my cousin from California. I live in Colorado. Hadn't seen her for many year.

Not quite the same, but similarly: there are approximately 100 people in the office where I currently work. I have recently discovered there are at least 4 of us that all have roots in the same small area of Colorado (250 miles/4 hrs away). 3 of us are all in the same department of only 18 people.

I just LOVE it when stuff like that happens -- I had a really bizarre one happen recently, now I'll have to put it on my blog (you inspire me!)
