Ants

I was awaken this morning before 5:30 am to my cheerful excited children. Last night I interpreted Pageant. The girls came with me for a girls night out and Rich Hannah bought snacks. I awoke to gleeful requests for whales( Walmart's version of Pepridge Farms gold fish) and Twizzlers.

I decide to type up the all the kids letters for our missionary to send through dearelder.com . I hear this flying thing hitting the computer window. I ignore it thinking it is just a fly. Ruby, who is at my feet, runs away howling and scratching. I look over to where she was and see millions of these.

By now I having them crawling up my legs and they are biting me!!
I did what any respectful housewife would do.... I vacuumed them up.
They just kept coming....and biting. Scott took over the vacuuming(including vacuuming my legs) and I ran to get BORAX (love that stuff even more now! If I had to go on Survivor, my luxury item would be either Borax or baby wipes. I am convinced you can win wars with baby wipes).
It took us a long time to get them all, but the Borax did it's job both on the carpet and outside the window and around the base of the house. I am buying poison just in case.
Eww it makes my skin crawl just thinking of it

I hear that bounce sheets are a good deterrent for insects.

OH man, we had them swarm through our windowsill a couple of years ago. IT was AWFUKL! It was late at night and I was getting ready for bed when it started. I did NOT sleep in there that night. Thankfully it happened only that one time. I keep waiting for it to happen again though... I'm just glad I wasn't asleep.
