Saving Gas

With gas at $3.75 a gallon we are trying to save on gas. We needed food, so Sarah and I biked to Walmart.
We loaded up the trailer with groceries and Andrew (the back and his foot area is filled too with groceries-behind the black screen).
The thing I like best about the Erie Canal is the friendly neighbors always looking out for your needs.

This is a welcome site, the bridge home.

Are you doing anything different?

Not yet, but we will start walking or biking a lot more soon. I need to get the kids bikes fixed and two of us need helmets oh and bike locks. It doesn't seem so cheap right now :P.

I wish I lived in a more bike-friendly place where the kids and I could ride places other than the park. Well, we aren't doing anything different as far as gas yet, I'm not sure what we can do. LAst year though, to save, we sold our car and Peter biked 12 miles each way to school. He got in great shape! Now he works an hour away so we had to get a car for him. PLus we had a baby and didn't all fit in one car anymore with Grandma too. Bummer. My kids aren't in so many activities though so that helps! I only have to take and pick up at Activity days!

Our Excursion has taken up almost permanent residence in the garage. Except for church, I'm just not taking the whole family anywhere and I use the small car for errands or don't run them when Ren is gone. It's insane when it costs $150 to fill up my gas tank!
