And the worst Mother Award goes to.............

Me.

SO today since I didn't have anything to do until 2pm, I decided to do nothing. I have been working really hard at lots of different things so this morning was for NOTHING nothing.

I mean NOTHING. It is 12:33 and I still haven't showered, the dishes are piling up, the girls were told to do computer homeschooling and I sat in bed, took a nap, nothing.

I got home from work last night at almost midnight. I wasn't able to go right to sleep. I have been working hard getting ready for a mock interpreting test to see where I stand for the new national certification testing. I took part of the test yesterday and passed comfortably. I still have a lot to work on and things I want to work on, but it gives me some relief.

I got up to another level at the YMCA. I was feeling good...strong. Someone at worked asked me last night if I have been loosing weight( an interpreter not a client).
My hair looked good.
Sarah and I went to the high school and made her schedule. Sounds like fun.
Seth has bee preparing for the Biography Fair. He is Abraham Lincoln. He made a great presentation. He and I read the 1905 version Biography made for young people. He was so intrigued that Ab had lived in a log cabin and they were too poor to afford a door. His Mom had to make a door out of a bear skin.
He and I made an awesome poster...even though he told everyone I did most of the work. I glued two more papers than he did, who knew he was counting?
He got a tall hat from Grandpa and Scott made a beard out of construction paper that hooks on you ears. It is sooooooooooo fun. He wrote 10 note cards for his presentation. He practiced at nausea around the house his presentation. He could never say Emancipation Proclamation right.

I'd show you except. I missed it....
cuz I was told it was at 2 and it was at 10.
Grandpa is here to see it too.
I looked at all the papers that came home, they just said the date. I read the newspaper that the class writes...again no time. I looked in his backpack last night for a reminder..nothing. Seth said two. I called the office at school, they didn't know. I called back and I had missed it.
I didn't check his planner last night.....maybe it was in there.

I did nothing and he preformed. I am very sad.
This is one of those-when he is a grown up he will remember that he was the only one with out a parent cheering him on-moments.
Scott took the afternoon off work.

I hope he said Emancipation Proclamation right. He wanted very badly to say it correctly.

Anyone got chocolate?

Don't you feel better after your rest?

I agree with Sarah. You missed it and you are upset about it, you did everything expected to find out the time, you helped him prepare and even planned to go.

You deserve a day off, no guilt!

You didn't do "nothing." You rested and were ready to go to the presentation that afternoon. You HAVE to have days like this once in a while or you will go nuts! I am sorry you missed his performance. Hopefully it will just be one of many and he will remember the ones that you were able to make it too.
