"how about you you you?" Love that Raffi song, lol
So it is Spring Break week. I sent Matt off yesterday and Alex hitched a ride today to the beach house with the Buffums, friends and COUSINS!!!!
Us poor souls left behind were forced to have a "staycation."
Sarah and Hannah were off to the Village on their bikes(ahhhh the good weather and the freedom of the Erie Canal).
We went to the zoo!Our membership(thank you Elsabeth) is almost up for renewal and we need to make the most of it.
Benjamin kept asking
"GASP WHAZ DAT?!?"
When we came home and we were telling our Dad over lunch all that we saw-Benjamin just roared and growled in his two cents.
Andrew was happy that the zookeeper had "caught the bird that might eat our chickens." See, we have a hawk. I actually enjoy having one around because the rodent population has decreased...and that is a great thing.
The biggest hit was BY FAR the gray squirrel. Seems our house is void of them too;0
Tigers...
The Rhinos were in a mood today. I have never seen them up that close! They were in the mud bath, hooking their horns. Seth thinks "they should never mind the mud and just take a bath!!!!"
We were in the center while they were feeding the seals/sea lions. We had a front row seat to watch what was happening above and below the water.
The polar bears were in and out of the water. It was a little unnerving to see that huge bear paw push off the glass. I had a moment where I questioned the science of force and inertia.
So there is this tunnel the kids can go through to actually be in an observation tower-thing in the cougar pen. Again, it was a little unnerving to see the cougar pace around the tower with my children in it. I was thinking how if I had to,I'd probably get stuck in the tunnel.
Emma was thinking it was a little too close for comfort, but of course Andrew wouldn't come out.
Elephants.....
Here are Ben and Seth are elephants.
One last comment on the zoo.
Never get so frustrated that it is taking 3 hours and 26 mins to actually get out the door that you allow your three yr old to wear his sister's-two sizes-too big-not-a-good-idea-to-walk-long-ways in crocs, and his younger brothers sweats, and don't forget the diaper bag in the car, and the snacks on the dining room table.
You'd thing I'd have it down by now, lol

Yay! I love that song. We're going on Friday night. Gonna see a Monkey, monkey, monkey...
Wow! The Rochester zoo has really gotten better since we were there and went on Monday mornings for free! And just for the record, I walk out of the house all the time with no diapers or wipes with me, even though I still have 2 children pooping several times a day in diapers. I think it's denial that I could possibly STILL be doing the diaper thing!
I don't think I have ever been to that zoo. And if you have the diapers and wipes, you never need them. I used to stash some in a tupperware container and leave it in my car at all times. I never had the diaper bag.
Hi Heather! I found your blog through April's! So glad to see you are all doing well! We miss you guys! Your're family just keeps growing!
