Pinewood Derby. If there isn't one, there should be a church movie about it.

Seth and Scott enjoyed themselves and that is all that matters.
Our ward got a computerized finish line that is suppose to end all worries of who finished first.The fancy software was suppose to calculate the score in time speed or whatever. Well this contraption had several flaws. It didn't work at the most important thing it was suppose to do.

The Brother in charge started sternly yelling at the boys not to kick it, and get in single file line to pick up their car.
Who would make a sensitive fragile computer thing for boys ages 8-12? DUH! Boys in a competition have extra testosterone. Asking them to walk under control is like asking a bull to make milk.
Not to mention you have to have 20 races. Every car runs on every track. It's science.

Here is a look at the competition. I like that the boys actually made the cars. I have been to some derby s where it was obvious that the Fathers had ummmmm .....too much "fun" in the process.

Luckily when I was in scouts, the boys just had fun at the derby.
L just had a pinewood derby for Activity Days, the girls were so excited about putting stickers, glitter and flowers on their cars. They didn't care about who won, lol. The parents weren't invited, which helped I think ;).

Pinewood Derby's Rock! This was Tommys first year racing and we had a ball. I remember my first car and the wheels falling off when I raced. Bab memories and many days of counseling to get rid of those nightmares...
