Face of a new 7 year old!!!

Emma turned 7.

My sweetie Emma.

I remember being with Scott searching family history for a name. It took longer than her impatient Mom wanted. All our children have pioneer family names with nice stories...I wanted one for her too. We found a story about Emma Sophia. She had a sister Pearl, and a brother Victor Ezra. Emma shared her shoes with sister Pearl. They were very early settlers to UT.

What I remember about Emma's birth story is that I was VERY HEAVY WITH CHILD and having regular braxton hicks. I had been dilated, but my Dr thought I should "let nature take it's course.."
I waited until Dr. Inducer was on-call . He was a sympathetic. I love that man.
He came in, broke my water and less than 3 hours he was called to come fast. He ran into the room telling me to wait, because he didn't have his gloves on.

ummmmm waiting is.......impossible.
I remember looking and seeing him with one glove on -using the stop traffic hand signal -while a a Resident helping him put his other glove on.

Scott says I didn't say it, but I can't be sure....
I remember thinking/saying....

"I am not in charge of your gloves. You knew coming in here you needed gloves!!!!"

Emma is a sweet girl and we love her!

Here are some highlights:
Emma LOVES pancakes so we started off the day with a big batch of choc chip pancakes.

Emma wanted : a cell phone, a stuffed panda, a trip to Wendys and art projects. We added , sidewalk chalk and bubbles ,because honestly I forgot to add them to their Easter Baskets....

Sarah made her a purse and we took her favorite pair of jeans (that got holes in the knees)and made them into cute shorts.

Seth cut flowers fresh from the yard.

Alex gave her a glass bead bracelet.

Hannah a piggy bank, that she had to paint herself.

Benjamin gave her balloons (or as he calls them MINE!).

Andrew did lots of art for her.
I, of course, forgot wrapping paper. If I had remembered tape, we could of used Christmas paper turned inside out. We took a big, orange, church bag and she had to unzip it and pull out one gift at a time. It worked.

She and Sarah made her birthday cake together (cookie cake) .
Next stop a hike on daffodil trail.

I JUST had to add this photo .
