15 miles on the Erie Canal

Or so.

Today the girls and I rode bikes to our friends' house in the Basin. Scott drove the younger ones there in the car. I may be getting fit, but I am not ready for the trailer yet.
Last year we would go the other way, on the Canal to Walmart and that was 8 miles round trip. Today it took us 36.8 mins(pretty good for our first time). It takes twenty mins or so to drive to there.
Here is a picture of the Village

We had sooooo fun on the way there.

We had a picnic and the kids played, got wet in squirt gun wars, played on the trampoline, played int he creek, did the swing, played basketball and it was F-U-N!
It is what life for kids should be like.

Scott sat in the shade with his lap top and did his work. How is that for an office with a view!

On he way back it took a little longer and near the end we lost our excitement. BUT IT WAS FUN!

How is it that the wind was in our face on the way there and at the end on the way back?

My butt is saying 'oh you rode a bike, silly girl.'

Ouch, bike butt is the WORST pain imaginable (okay, maybe not the WORST but it is pretty excrutiating after not riding for a long time.) This sounds heavenly -- I'm glad you guys are finally having spring!

I so miss the Erie Canal. That was my favorite part. I miss Pittsford and the Basin. I miss Abott's, I might need to come back. I miss Paul too.

What a nice way to spend the day. We need to get our bikes down and cleaned up for spring.
