texting is ruining me too

I text my children a lot. I love it. Last month I sent 938 texts. Its not my record.
Alex's record is 1323 and Matt's was over 2800 or was it Jessica? I can't remember.

I think it is a great non-invasive way to communicate with people. A phone call is immediate, something has to be dealt with- the ringing of the phone... Either you have to answer it, let it go to a machine or miss it.

Texting does not disturb the person if they are in the middle of something. I can communicate privately with one of my kids( at school, on a date -when they are old enough to date:)Jking Alyssa I luv ya and u kno it...) and they can get back to me when they can.

"Mom practice has been changed to...Mom I need this or I forgot that....Mom there is a bomb scare...I'm fine....Can I stay at work later?...Mom so-n-so has a penny in his poop, what do I do?"

One can be texting several people at once. I can be texting Jessica in VA and or Eve in UT.

Here is my "prob". I am writing/typing like I text. I no longer want to type out "I don't know." I want simply to do "idk."

Textng has an abbreviated condensed "language". I am getting the hang of it, it is overflowing to other parts of my life. Are we watching a new language evolve?

Idk and idc. all i kno is i luv my fone and txtng is g8t.G2g Ttyl.<3333

I totally disagree with you. I think texting is invasive and it is impossible to carry on a conversation and text without the "live" person being aware and then "put on hold" shall we say by the texter. It may be great when you're at home or doing the dishes, but it is no better than talking on the phone when around other people.
Just my thoughts.
