Although this is called 7 kidsandadog...I really have an 8th child in my heart.

Matt has lived us on and off all of his life. Little here,longer there and now. His friends have been incorporated into our family too. How we love Ashley, Zach,and even crazy Jess.
Last August, Matt moved in to catch his breath and make a plan. Tomorrow he is off again on another one of life's adventure. My heart jumps and aches.
This time it was different when he was here. He is more a peer,less of a child.I enjoyed that relationship.
Life has tried to teach him some things,some he has wisely learned and others he is taking heed to. It amazes me how he has insight,but he is in the wandering years. He will be fine. No better than fine.He has overcome so much....he's great.
Tomorrow he will be leaving, but his bed will wait for him, just in case I get to be a part of his life again.
I love Matt. I love Matt like one of own. Over the years I have yelled at,cried with, prayed for, laughed with, cried over, swelled with pride because of, and simply love Matt.
I will continue to text him to remember to say his "personal prayers and lock the doors". Habits die hard...especially ones that I don't want to let go. I will probably smell his cologne again a time or two then say a quiet prayer that...
Life will be kind to him.
Matt is off....God Speed.

Is he going far?
He is going back to live with his Mom again to give it another try. It's her birthday. You know we have had himand his sister on and off since 1994
