Grandpa's Quilt

We have a tradition to make presents for absolutely free. Usually People get jellies or genealogy from us, but this year we are trying something different.
In October, we started collecting free jeans anyway we could. We collected enough to make Grandpa a quilt, plus 2 others.
Most of you know that my MIL was a professional wig maker/costumer. She even had a chance to work on Broadway's Beauty and the Beast. She had a tradition of making every grand baby and child born into the ward a beautiful baby blankey. When things became too busy during shows, Joe was summoned.

He learned to sew and took over the blankets too. He became so good that people didn't know for years that it was Joe who actually made the blankets. He has carried on the tradition for the almost 8 yrs she has been gone.

I have never acquired the skill or patience of sewing- S has. Joe makes sure she has everything she needs to succeed.... despite her mother.

We are making a quilt for him for Christmas.....shhhhhh don't tell him

See the post below for a slide show of the process

I love the pictures of each of your kids working on the quilt. You should give him the pictures as well.
