Dear Stu, help me run a marathon

I am not athletic, the fact that I have a son who plays sports and is excellant at any one he tries, boggles me.

No one ever wanted me on their team. I didn't want me on their team.

I was the easy target in dodge ball.

I ran track in high school, because I could get the jacket easily. Half the time my friends and I went( okay we drove) to the all boys school for a while and hung out until we thought Coach would think we had ran enough and drove most of the way back(of course we ran the rest of the way to look winded). Yeah I won a few races, but hey I got my jacket. I ran a few 5 and 10 Ks in high school and a 5 k or two recently. I remember the feeling of a race and I like it

Three or four years ago I started training for a marathon and got really good. Me good. I even started liking and NEEDING to run. My LSDs were 16 miles. I am slow but steady. I got injured and pregnant.
I quit.

I have been talking about it again with Meadow.
I need a motivater and someone I can complain and brag to and maybe swear at.
I want to do it. I am going to do it.
This year.
It is almost a year away.
Come to NY Stu

I passed on this link to Stu.

I did track in High School too, but I threw the discus and shot put so I didn't have to run more than two laps, lol. What happened to me now? ;).

I can barely run 1.5 miles in 13 minutes (in my prime), and that's with a Marine Corps drill instructor threatening to kill me every 5 seconds if I didn't speed it up.

That's one dedicated drill instructor! I don't think I have that kind of commitment in me.

Nonetheless, I've never had the pleasure of anybody begging me for anything before (well, except for some spare change)...

A fat raise, plenty of free-lance work, and enough vacation time built up and I just might go for it though.

I have to admit, I've always wanted to visit New York.

If I finish before the pace car I'll be ok.
oh fly into Buffalo- its cheaper and we can pick you up...if you are not driving

Yeah, my goal is to finish before the course is closed :).

I'll get looking and saving and we'll see what we can do.

Let's hope my CT scan and possible sinus surgery is cheaper than expected ;).

Which marathon are you shooting for? My brother Ryan is hooked. He's done the St. George twice and few other big races. I like doing triathlons, but haven't caught the marathon bug yet.

Rochester Marathon here in Sept. Its flat but considering how sore I am after "running" yesterday I may die before sept.
Any new babies in the Fox/ Cluff family?
Who is going to win Sheala or Camille?
