On Veteran's Day, across the street from the Veteran's Memorial , we went to 1000 acres swamp. This is special to us because my ancestors farmed 117 acres of it in the early 1800s ( the Merritt Family). There are parts of an old farm stone fence and I wonder if the hands that made it are related to my hands.
We ( Sarah, Hannah, Seth, Emma, Andrew and of course what day off of school would be complete with out Connor) spent about 2 hours exploring. We found a wonderful area covered with vines which we commissioned as VINE JUNGLE.
Even though it was lates in the season, it was all and all a beautiful day.
We had to bring wood from home so that Andrew could kill any bears we might happen upon.
This one picture that shows all the kids is a perfect glimpse of what it was like. Connor climbing and Hannah following, Andrew peeing and Emma being disgusted once again by Andrew. Seth in LALALALA land enjoying everything, and Sarah making sure everyone is okay and pose able for her cell phone camera
